Ajai Sinha’s directorial debut is an engaging comedy-drama about four young professionals sharing an apartment in Dubai. While they seem to be leading a carefree modern life together, their paths diverge as each member of the group copes with personal crises. Events come to a climax on New Year’s Eve, when lives and friendships are changed forever. Starring Ishita Arun, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Rocky Bhatia and Gauri Karnik. With Diya Mirza, Kiran Janjani and Om Puri. The music is by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. (2004)

This powerful drama stars Om Puri as Suresh Kumar Kapoor, a college professor whose son (Sanjay Suri) is killed during the 1999 Kargil war between India and Pakistan. As compensation, the army offers the family a plot of land so they can open a petrol pump as a source of livelihood. But Suresh must confront a corrupt bureaucratic system to realize the dream and keep his son’s memory alive. Based on a true story. Revathi, Gul Panag, Gopi Desai and Ganesh Yadav also star. Writer/director Mahesh Manjrekar’s crime epic is a sequel to his acclaimed 1999 feature Vaastav. Sanjay Dutt stars as Rohit, a gangster’s son who follows in his father’s blood-soaked footsteps into the criminal underworld. Rohit’s ruthlessness brings him wealth and political influence. But his inexorable rise to power exacts a terrible price. Shilpa Shetty co-stars as Gauri, the woman Rohit rescues from a marriage to an abusive husband. Sachin Khedekar, Gulshan Grover, Sharad Kapoor and Deepak Tijori also star. The music is by Anand Raj Anand and Ranjit Barot. (2002)

This acclaimed romantic thriller stars Rahul Bose as Aman Kapoor, a wealthy young investment banker whose car breaks down in the middle of a rainstorm, leaving him stranded in one of the most dangerous areas of Mumbai. A chance encounter with Chameli, an alluring prostitute played by Kareena Kapoor, leads Aman into the city’s criminal underworld, and brings him face to face with a side of life he never knew existed.
