Doc Martin Special: “On the Edge”

In this two hour special, Martin's efforts to restart his relationship with schoolteacher Louisa Glasson (Caroline Catz) are derailed by the sudden arrival of her father Terry, a shady figure who's busy hatching a larcenous scheme – one that could cause serious trouble for the good doctor.

Meet the doctor who makes House look like a fluffy puppy.

Martin Clunes (Men Behaving Badly , Shakespeare in Love) stars in the award-winning British series Doc Martin as Dr. Martin Ellingham, a small-town physician with the healing hands of an Albert Schweitzer and the bedside manner of a rabid Rottweiler.

Once a successful surgeon, Martin was forced to give up his career in London after he acquired a debilitating fear of blood. At loose ends, he takes the job of general practitioner for the sleepy Cornish fishing village of Portwenn. But his strange blend of medical talent and complete tactlessness isn't quite what the locals had hoped for.

Doc Martin also stars Ian McNeice as hapless plumber Bert Large, Joe Absolom as his lovelorn son Al, Stephanie Cole as Martin's Aunt Joan, and Katherine Parkinson as his new receptionist Pauline, who has a morbid fascination with all matters medical.
